In 1973 a new Chi-Town Hustler Charger funny car debuted replacing the previous year’s Challenger. Based out of Chicago, the Chi-Town Hustler was owned by engineer and designer John Farkonas, famed engine tuner Austin Coil and their first driver Pat Minick. Primarily a match racer, the Chi-Town Hustler had a reputation that wowed fans with its track long burnouts. Brightly painted and decaled as part of the Revell model program this new Charger funny car was as striking as it was quick. Driver Ron Colson joined the Chi-Town team in June of 1972 and would go on to win several IHRA races in 1973 with ETs in the 6.40s at top speeds over 230 mph at the line. In 1974 the Ron Colson and Chi-Town Hustler Charger would go on to take the IHRA championship
