Very similar to the Bel Air of the same era, the Biscayne was a lower-end less expensive model in Chevy's lineup of full size cars. The two-door "post" design, lack of exterior trim, and minimal interior frills made of lighter materials made the Biscayne a popular racer. Other than the distinct 427 badge quietly boasting on the front fender, this sleeper looked just like any other travelling salesman's car of the day. Both the Bel Air and the Biscayne used rectangular taillights for 1966, but the Biscayne was easily recognized by its lack of rocker molding or rear fender script. This Biscayne represents one of around 200 that were factory-built with the powerful L72 427 cu. in. big block cranking out 425 hp.
